Youth Learning Design Bootcamp

Parent Information Sheet (Ages 15–18)

About the Bootcamp

Our 5-week immersive training empowers young people to design and publish short online courses (5–10 minutes each) on topics that matter to youth well-being.

Participants will choose from one of three themes:

  • Mental & Emotional Resilience
  • Healthy Relationships & Communication
  • Sustainable Living

By the end of the program, each participant will have:

  • Designed one engaging, learner-friendly courses using Tally.so.
  • Gathered real learner feedback.
  • Showcased their work in a final presentation.

This is a fully funded opportunity with a weekly commitment of 8–10 hours, combining live workshops and independent project work.

Safeguarding & Minor Participant Policy

We are committed to creating a safe, supportive, and enriching environment for all participants aged 15–18.

Supervision & Safety

  • All sessions are supervised by trained facilitators.
  • No one-on-one private sessions without another adult present or written parental approval.
  • Online sessions are hosted on secure, password-protected platforms.

Code of Conduct

  • Respect and kindness are expected from everyone.
  • No bullying, discrimination, or inappropriate language.
  • Content and discussions will be age-appropriate.

Parental/Guardian Consent

  • Parents/guardians sign consent for participation, recordings (if applicable), and showcasing student work.
  • Emergency contact and relevant medical information are required before the program begins.

Privacy & Online Safety

  • Personal information of minors is never shared publicly.
  • Photos, videos, or student work are only shared with written permission.
  • Participants are advised not to share personal information during sessions.

Well-being & Support

  • We cover youth-focused topics in a supportive, non-judgmental space.
  • Any serious concerns are referred to the appropriate support services.

Reporting Concerns

  • Concerns are reported immediately to our Designated Safeguarding Lead.
  • We follow all applicable laws on mandatory reporting of suspected harm.
