We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Volunteer Program Coordinator to help facilitate a unique 5-week immersive training program. This program empowers young individuals (ages 15-18) to become learning designers, creating impactful online courses on youth well-being topics using Tally.so
This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a meaningful educational initiative, gain experience in program coordination, and work closely with talented youth and subject matter experts.
Program Summary & Timeline:
The Youth Learning Designers Grant Program is a fully funded, 5-week immersive training opportunity for youth aged 15-18. The program is scheduled to begin on August 4th. Participants will learn the fundamentals of learning design, focusing on creating short (5-10 minute) online courses addressing critical well-being themes (Mental & Emotional Resilience, Healthy Relationships & Communication, Navigating School & Future Pathways). The program culminates in each youth designing three courses, gathering learner feedback, and showcasing their work.
Program Timeline (5 Weeks):
Week 1: Foundations of Learning Design & Tally.so Basics Week 2: Content Structuring & Microlearning Principles Week 3: Engagement, Assessment & Iteration Week 4: Final Refinement & Preparation for Learner Feedback Week 5: Course Running, Learner Feedback & Showcase
Role Overview:
The Volunteer Program Coordinator will play a vital role in ensuring smooth communication and support for our grant recipients (students) and coordinating with subject matter experts (SMEs). You will be the friendly face and organized backbone that helps our program thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Student Support: Communicate regularly with our youth grant recipients, providing reminders, answering questions, and offering encouragement. SME Liaison: Assist in communicating, coordinating, and scheduling interactions with subject matter experts who provide valuable insights to our young designers. Logistical Aid: Help with general program logistics, scheduling, and ensuring all participants have the information they need. Feedback Facilitation: Support the process of gathering and organizing feedback on the courses designed by the youth.
Expected Outcomes:
Enhanced Participant Engagement: Contribute to a high level of engagement and satisfaction among youth grant recipients throughout the program. Seamless Communication Flow: Ensure timely and clear communication between the program facilitator, youth participants, and subject matter experts. Effective Resource Coordination: Facilitate the efficient scheduling and utilization of SME expertise to enrich the learning experience. Organized Program Logistics: Support the smooth operation of all program activities, including session attendance and feedback collection.
What We're Looking For:
A genuine interest in supporting youth development and well-being. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently. Comfortable using online communication tools (email, video conferencing). Previous experience in coordination, administration, or working with youth is a plus, but not required.
Time Commitment:
Approximately 7-10 hours per week for 5 weeks. This is a flexible role that can often be adapted to your schedule.
