IV. New Business
- Report on current activities
- English website
- Discuss on Board experience from Board member
The Chair reported that work had started on content development for the English website. Once it is ready, the link will be shared with the Board.
b. Pilot course for Vietnamese
A recent activity focused on marketing the pilot course, including placing all information on the website and sending out a welcome email with instructions. Once the pilot course is completed in June, the activities will be expanded to local individuals in Canada.
c. Neighborhood Small Grant
The Chair reported that the Neighborhood Small Grant application was not accepted. Although the result was disappointing, it was also a lesson learned.
d. Bank application status
The application for the BMO Corporate Bank Account is still in process, verifying all the signees. The Chair will keep the Board informed as she hears any updates from the bank.
Alex: The Chair has been doing a good job providing direction and leading the ship. Also, good advice has come out of the meetings.
Patricia: Appreciate the Chair for bringing together members at different capacities. Everybody's contributions have been valuable. Also although the small grant was not approved, it provided good lessons learned.
Soyeon: The meeting helped keep the members informed. Also, on a personal level, it has been a great learning experience to witness an organization starting and growing from the very beginning.
Chair: The past few months have been both a good and challenging time. The Board has been a helpful resource, and monthly meetings have helped keep the activities moving forward.
