You’re about to go on a wild ride — from bite to 💩 — learning how your body breaks down food and why it’s so important to know.

This isn’t just school stuff. This is your health, your energy, your superpower.

Page 2: The Route – Where Does Food Go?

💡 Do you know:

Your poop is a sign of how your digestive system is doing.

If something feels off — like pain, bloating, or unusual poop — it’s your body asking for help!

Text Block:

Your digestive system is like a long theme park ride:

Mouth → Esophagus → Stomach → Small Intestine → Large Intestine → Anus

Why It Matters:
  • You understand what’s happening when you feel bloated or gassy
  • You know where things can go wrong — and how to keep them right
  • You can see how your body works to keep you alive every day

Checklist/Quiz Block:

✅ Put the stops in the correct order:
  • Mouth
  • Esophagus
  • Stomach
  • Small Intestine
  • Large Intestine
  • Anus

Page 3: Meet Your Organs – The Digestive Crew

💡 Do you know:

Your stomach growls because of muscle movement — not hunger.

Even an empty stomach does peristalsis. It’s normal, not embarrassing!

Text Block:

Each organ in your digestive system has a special role.

Think of them as your body's backstage crew keeping the show running.

Toggle Blocks or Collapsible Sections:

  • Mouth: Chews and adds saliva with amylase (starts digesting carbs)
  • Esophagus: Moves food down using peristalsis (muscle waves)
  • Stomach: Churns food with acid and pepsin (starts breaking proteins)
  • Small Intestine: Absorbs nutrients with villi and enzymes
  • Large Intestine: Absorbs water, forms poop 💩
  • Liver: Makes bile to break fats
  • Pancreas: Produces enzymes for proteins, fats, carbs
  • Gallbladder: Stores and releases bile

Why It Matters:

  • You recognize symptoms and can better communicate about your health
  • You know why hydration, fiber, and balanced meals help you feel better
  • You gain confidence by understanding your body’s systems

Page 4: The Breakdown – What Happens to Your Food?

💡 Do you know:

Digestion doesn’t only happen in the stomach.

The small intestine is where most nutrients are absorbed.

That’s why stomach pain doesn’t always mean the problem is in the stomach!

💧 If you're tired, cranky, or dizzy... drink water first.

Dehydration feels like hunger or stress. Water is a game-changer!

  • You’re ready to help others learn too!

Tips You Can Try Tomorrow:

✅ Eat a mix of protein, carbs, and fats at each meal

✅ Drink enough water — at least 6–8 cups a day

✅ Choose whole foods (like fruits, grains, veggies) over ultra-processed snacks

✅ Don’t skip meals — your body needs fuel

✅ Listen to your body: Are you actually hungry, or just bored/stressed?

✅ Chew slowly and enjoy your food (digestion starts in your mouth!)

✅ Pack snacks if you’ll be out for a while — prevent energy crashes

✅ Be kind to yourself — food is not “good” or “bad,” just information for your body
