Vi’s comment:
Well done! This is your first Learning Objectives (LOs). In learning design, this step is very important, and it is not easy. To master making LOs, you need experience building courses and assessments. We just have enough time to give you a taste of it. I will give you each an explanation and suggest a revised version.
- I like to summarize ideas, but as the course is short, we cannot expect learners to have 6 sentences of knowledge. Surprisingly, that is a lot to ask 🥲 . Multiple-choice or an open-ended question will feel less intimidating.
- This will require a week to follow up, which a course cannot do. We can reframe it into a commitment activity: “Select 3 strategies to track this week.” → learners tick boxes and write when they’ll try them.
- The last is almost perfect. Listing is one of the best ways to assess if learners understand the content. We can reduce “List 2–3 strategies you’d recommend” or use a multiple-choice check (“Select all that improve sleep”). Also, listing is a task, not a learning objective.
Revised versions:
- Understand the importance of sleep by identifying at least one way it supports well-being.
- Apply sleep hygiene practices by selecting 3 strategies to commit to this week.
- Understand practical tools by recognizing at least 3 strategies people can use to improve sleep. → Assessment: Multiple-choice “select all that apply” or short list entry.
